The Birchington Lights Christmas 2018 display will be back for another year! The display prep and setup will be starting over the weekend of the 24th November. As always we will have new parts added to the display.
We have spent lots of time on the behind the scenes ‘stuff’ to help make setup, removal and storage easier.
As always the last season took its toll on the lights; with High winds and a very wet December, we’ve had to make the inevitable water related repairs. We have had to be totally rebuild the gutter baubles this year due to water ingress this year.
This year we have improved the power distribution for the items which are up on the guttering. Our main aim was to make these far easier to install and take down at the end of the season. Because of us doing this, it has also made sure the display whites are all kept at the correct colour, as voltage loss in long cables can be a big problem for a 12 or 5 volt system. We find that White colours start turning to a muddy brown the longer the cable run is.
New items added to the Christmas 2018 display:-
- Animated spokes for arches
- Snowflakes
- Stars for trees
We have added animated spokes to 6 of the leaping arches this year, with half of the front having them added, and both in front of the Garage door.
We have added new stars to the tops of the trees, which should hopefully allow us to make some good effects here.
Our aim is to hopefully have (time permitting) some new snowflakes on the garage door.
